Okay so its been a week since my first post.

Yesterday, Sunday August 27th, Moved into Residence.

Founders College and Residence is the first and Oldest Residence and College on Campus. The Building is 60 years old. Yes, 60.

Looks pretty alright from the outside but the inside walls and stairwells seriously need a huge makeover. My room's okay. Its not that small but its not that big either..compared to what i'm used to at home. haha. But i guess it'll be cosy in the winter. Lets see, i have my own phone, large desk, nice big shelves, a WARDROBE(!!) and Dresser haha(not so bad ah angeline), bed, one puny window(not exactly an airy room, but its all in prep for winter).

I'm staying on a CO-ED floor. Geez. okay i was not really prepared for that. i thought it was an all girls wing..but the initial shock comes and goes. Since the HUGE shock was i'm surrounded by guys. Josh, Arnaud and Walid. Well they're pretty friendly people so i guess it might be a good thing.

After the morning move in, went to Aunty Betty's for Lunch somewhere in Missasauga i think. She's a nice lady..made a wonderful indian themed lunch for us. She reminds me of that short lady with the glasses who designed all the costumes in The Incredibles. After Lunch, went around to shop for more stuff for my room. Oooh and finally we hit Ikea! Eye-kee-ah, as its called here. Not Ee-Kia. Bought a whole lot of cool stuff for the room and then we came back to campus and Mom, aunty suan chin and Jiun Yiing helped me did up the place.

Finally got the internet to work in my room. Ooh that's Monday 28th August already.
Ok, so today was the first day of academic orientation. Peer Advisor's name was Kirsten, sat us down in the courtyard in a circle and told us about Uni life and stuff. THink of the scene in Legally Blonde, where they yeah basically did what we did as i mentioned above. and then came social orientation or FROSH week. It was pretty fun, kinda similar to the most orientations i've attended except that people are way crazier and louder and spunkier and well yeah you get the idea. People here can really holler and whoop at ANYTHING. Pretty cool cheers too, best ones i've heard yet. But i don't really rmb any of them. FU btw!

I think the best part of today was the live comedy show by the Imponderables. They were really good. They were the improv sorta comedy group with all the props and beat box effects. so yeah, i think that was the best part of the day. watching that in the theatre.

In the evening, Mom and Tipak Kaufu, Aunty Suan Chin and Jiun Ruey dropped by with MORE Stuff. A Fridge! A Lava Lamp! More Hangers! A Water Filter Jug! My Internet Cable! So its all good. Thanks so much!

Well have to wake up early tmr Academic Orientation Day 2 so i guess this'll do for today.

Sorry Guys, ABout the pictures, well I still feel my room needs a little more work and tidying up before i'm ready to show it to y'all..lol..be patient, i'll try to upload soon! and i'll sort out the tagboard thing soon too, use that!! or rather post on that!! REGULARLY!!

This is created for me to share my experience of depending on myself for a very long time.

Oh, its also because i said i'd do this. Promises..have to keep them lah.

So Its Monday Night now..2 more days till i'm outta here!!

Outta Sin City.

I am sentimental and over the past few days, a victim of wave after wave of nostalgia.

But enough of looking back.

Last Friday(ok one last time!), Angeline(IMO the best person to talk football with) and I finally went to the Converse Fair at Tampines Mall to pick at what's left of the sale, and all the stuff we wanted were either gone, not in the right size or sold out. Monday's Good Stuff were No More! Lesson is, never wait 5 days to buy something from a sale. Anyway, we sat down at MacD's to talk for quite a while, and i said that i wanted to travel in the summer after i completed my 2nd year. Yep, the whole backpacking on a shoe string budget living in run down hostels across Europe thing. Then the magic words, or magic gist, or magic whatever which she said that got me really excited.

''Go To Euro 2008!!!''

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. How could I forget..

So much so that now, I am really aiming for that. And i even talked to Dad about it!! So its serious. Of course, he and mom did their fair share of traveling when they were studying overseas. Sounds like one big adventure. Well, i'm taking it a step at a time. My one big adventure begins in September.

Dad asked me about it in the car on Sunday when he took me to lunch at Muthu's Curry.

Dad: So, you ever thought of where you wanna travel to? Studying overseas, best time of your life. Go see the world.

Me: Yeah! I'm thinking of Austria/Switzerland in 2008.

Dad: What? Why?

Me: Cause the Euro championships are going to be held there.

Dad: Oh..(smirk) I see.

Me: And its going to be those backpacking trips, with a really small budget and the whole lost-in-translation thing thrown in as well.

(is it possible to be fluent in German within a short period of time?)

Dad: But if u go with us, you can stay in a nice hotel, good food...

Me: Uh Dad..the whole point of it is an adventure? Do stuff that deviates from the holiday norm?

Dad: Yes true. okay well..but don't travel alone. Best to go in Threes. (all right..heard it from the man himself)

I have 2 years to plan for this trip. Which means finding income..somewhere. and Saving. woo wee.

Now i need to find, able and willing backpacking buddies..

Book 2 years in advanced.

Hmm..Angeline? U Interested?
