Hellloooooo lovely peoples *waves hankerchief*

Head's a little woozy, just finished some reading, no food, yet. Anyways, the big news over the weekend is Roger Federer's exploits at the Australian Open. Actually, it should be Fernando Gonzalez's exploits and Roger Federer's "just another day at the office." It was an awesome game, brilliant play and awesome shots from both players. I had a pre match scare though, the stupid TVU player that i downloaded suddenly got invaded with American and Canadian Sports channels which were not showing any tennis and Star Sports, my beloved Star Sports disappeared from the list! Damn it. So i downloaded the SOpcast player instead, got lots more channels including ESPN!! ESPN Asia i mean. That means Sportscenter! Which means Steve Dawson and Uday Joshi! Woooo..one bad thing though, the audio and visual doesn't sync. Bah, well i guess you can't have everything. Anyways, lucky Adalia had cable in her room so she invited me over the watch after hearing about how cruel Star Sports got ran over. But i'm actually glad i watch TSN's broadcast of the AO, finally FINALLY i get to hear Mary Carillo, Dick Enberg, Pam Shriver and Luke Jensen's reports. Its American Coverage, and very different from the coverage i'm used to. Lol and now i know why so many people hate Mary Carillo's commentating.

Fernando Gonzalez is awesome!! Like Martina Hingis, but with power. Definitely one to watch out for this season. I liked the part when he was trying to rescue the moth that was on court..so cute! He had a pretty funny acceptance speech too. He played his game and it was good, but just not good enough for Federer. I could go on and on about the divine tennis being that is Roger Federer but i won't. But i'll touch on some. His passing shots are eye popping sometimes. I love his backhands and it is when I watch him that I wish i had a one handed backhand. And the way he completely demolished Andy Roddick in the semi final is truly a wonder to watch. For me, i'm an A-Rod and Fedex fan, so it was painful on one hand, but satisfying on the other. Not exactly a nice clash of emotions to experience. I feel for Andy, he was so sure he was closing the gap between Federer and himself and had so much confidence after the horrendous season last year(which ended not so badly, but still..), was playing so well in the torunament, and then get beaten down to the ground like nobody's business by Federer. Give it time Andy, go back to the drawing board and work even harder, one day..one day, you will beat this man! And you have the great Jimmy Connors on your side! Jimmy is a badass. And its translating to you as well. And that's why we all love you. The only good parts from that semi final, was Roddick's on court reactions and the press conference after that.

Here's a couple of funny things he did/said: After netting a forehand he yelled: God damn it i mean gosh darn it sorry god! ROFL
Trying to hi 5 the linesman after he called Fed's ball out but Fed challenged and it was in. hahaha..its like " Hey thanks for trying to help me but too bad"
Pumping his fists sarcastically after Federer challenged another ball that was called out but actually was in.
There are some hilarious quotes from the press conference as well but i'm too lazy to them hehe..its on youtube though if you're interested. Just type Andy Roddick Australian Open press conference. But gotta hand it to him, to handle such a beating with humor and sardonic wit is something to give credit for. Heck i'll just put the link here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=80W9pW3TTxw

So, Roger becomes the first man since Bjorn Borg in 1980 to win a Grand Slam without dropping a set. He's really playing for records now. Please kick Nadal's ass in May in the French Open. Federer seriously has the eyes of god! In the semi final, in the final, every ball he challenged went his way! I mean like wtf?(in a gd way), and when they show the challenge on hawk eye, the ball is always in by only a fraction of a margin..and seriously, a minute fraction. How the hell does he do it...Pay your respects people.

On to the women's side(yes i'm not done yet), Serena's baaaaack!!! The beating she gave Sharapova echoes the one handed out by Federer to Roddick. Sharapova didn't turn up for the match and Serena just pummelled her. I'm glad to see Serena back. She deserved it way more than Shrieka/Cheata-pova. Honestly, i've never seen Sharapova get thrashed so badly in a final before or any other match for that matter. The last time was in Indian Wells in 2005 where she got double bageled by Lindsay Davenport, but other than that..nada. *Wonders*

Anway, i'm sad and glad that Aussie Open is over. Next major tournament is Indian Wells/Miami in March..looking forward to that! I can finally concentrate properly on doing work, and not working my schedule around the time of matches. Lol..just when i have essay outlines and presentations due. yay!

Hope y'all are getting through your presentations/submission week(s) all right!

Okay i'm outie.
