Currently waiting for Raymond and Michelle to arrive before dinner can start. Damn i'm starving.

I passed my G-1 Written Test today!! WOOOO. Its only the first step. But it is still the first step. I'll be getting my license in the mail in about 4 weeks, and i'll probably start my driving lessons in February or March. See, here, after you take the theory test, you'll have a period of 8 months before your road test. So during that 8 months, you'll have to complete in class lessons and of course, on the road lessons. So, it doesn't make any sense to start my driving lessons now if I can only take the road test in May. Might as well wait till a few months before, that way i'll still be fresh when the time comes for the driving test.

Now i shall be explaining more about how getting your driver's license works here...Read on if you want to impress people with knowledge of Canada's driving system!

So, after you pass your G-1 Written test, you wait 8 months from that date to take the first road test. Pass that, and you'll be a G-2 licensed driver. Now there are alot of rules which i won't bore you with, but as a G-2 Driver, you basically can't drive on the major highways. After being a G-2 Driver for 6 months, then you'll have to take another road test, which is a freeway/highway test. Highways here are a big deal, thats why there's a normal road test and a highway test. After the highway test, you'll be a fully fledged G licensed Driver!

The whole process sounds rather draggy i know, but hey, i'll be spending the next two years here so i'll have all the time to get a full license. Yes, I sincerely hope that I will not turn out to be a terrible driver.

Reminder to myself, GET:

1. Lab Manual for German Class
2. Card Reader to plug in MAC for Camera
